Cross flashing in Indian's eyes
What is the meaning of Sara flashing the light of the cross in the Indian's eyes? Was there a religious significance or just some method of distraction?

If it was a simple distraction, she would've rather flashed it in the eyes of the guy who was shooting the arrows, not the old guy next to him. I was really unconvinced by the scene, since it looked like the old guy was in some way supersticiously afraid of shiny little thing flashing into his eyes. Now wait a minute - I would understand the Indians meeting a white man for the first time after discovery of the new world wouldn't know mirrors, but those guys there wouldn't be so dumb in my opinnion.

I believe it was to make it look like they had some sort of special powers, thus is why she told Clint's character to not look weak and hurt after getting an arrow through the chest..
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious...
I think it was because they were vampires - that one guy had really sharp teeth.
shareit was to confuse and distract him, he appeared to be the leader of the group. i think she was tryin to make him think that she had some kind of power through the cross and scare them off. it obviously worked.
sharei think the conversation was something like this:
"...they are a pagan tribe but religion has reached some of them...(or something to that effect)". she was hoping someone would recognise that she was "of the cloth" and posed no threat, letting them pass without (further) trouble. she flashed the wrong dude for a distraction. as for "some kind of power"? please, they're native not idiots.
You don't want to make someone flinch when he has a drawn bow pointed at you.
"They sucked his brains out!"
