Strange Deaths of Some of the Actors

What's the deal here with the seemingly unusual deaths of some of the actors in this movie?
Frederick Stafford dies in a plane crash. Dany Robin dies in an apartment fire with her husband. Per-Axel Arosenius kills himself by fire for heaven's sake! And Tina Hedström dies from who-knows-what at age 42. Does anyone know, by the way, how Ms.Hedström died? I can't find anything written in English about her.

Intriguing.

Nobody should be so harshly punished just for appearing in a bad movie.

P.S. I don't think "Topaz" is bad. But everybody else does, so I kid, I kid.

Also, Claude Jade died quite young, from some freakish eye cancer. Very sad.

I was going to start a similar topic. Sonja Kolthoff who played Mrs Kusenov also died at an early age of 46.

What's even more bizaree is that trying to locate info on the various players is most difficult . . . for Stafford, Variety obits index simply states: "No Variety obituary!" Searching out info on the cast is very time consuming . . .

Michel Subor who played the young journalist François Picard just died in January 2022 from injuries suffered in a traffic crash

Well, Mr. Subor at least had a good, long life, evidently. His co-stars had to leave our world too early.

Hitchcock's career lasted from 1925 to 1976. Over at the Alfred Hitchcock board, someone is keeping a list of the "surviving Hitchcock actors," and it is a list now less one more with Subor's passing. I think Hitchcock ladies are hanging in the best: Kim Novak, Vera Miles, Eva Marie Saint, Julie Andrews.

But boy, those Topaz folk...jinxed.
