Nicole (Dany Robin) Devereaux's wife.
I'm sorry, but i really hated her character, did they really expect me to believe she was in the French Resistance? She was constantly whining. Also did she have an affair with Jacques Granville?

shareYeah, I gathered Nicole was fooling around with Jacques Granville to get back at her husband for doing the same thing with Juanita de Cordoba.
Also, the stunned look on Nicole's face spoke volumes when her husband announced that Granville was a traitor.
As an aside, I thought she kinda looked like a teary-eyed Heather Locklear with a bad wig.
I saw it differently - it was revealed by Jacques at the party that Nicole, Andre and Jacques had been very close during WWII and she could have chosen either man to be her husband - she chose Andre.
I can see seeking out the man not chosen for a bit of ego soothing. As for Jacques -- to finally have Nicole would've have been tempting -- maybe he also liked the idea of hurting Andre.
As for the actress -- the wig was unfortunate but she was a beautiful woman.
The believability of Nicole as a resistance fighter -- she was probably young and willing to fight those that invaded her country. She was almost 20 years older in 1962 and didn't have the same passion for cold war tactics.
Also she was loyal to France and worried that her husband was betraying France by being too accomodating to the US.
Add a mistress in Cuba in the mix and many people would whine a bit.
My confusion was a French woman who took issue with her husband having a mistress.
I'm sorry, but i really hated her character . . .I just wasn't convinced by her acting. share
The role of Nicole Devereaux was poorly written and poorly performed. But for those wondering whether the character had an affair with Jacques Granville: Of course she did! It was quite explicit. (I watched the movie last night.)
shareI thought Dany Robin gave her part compassion and presence. The way they styled her haired was very unfortunate. Did women really wear it like that in 1962 or 1969? It looked to much Hollywood glamour. It made her look like a doll and I think people have trouble taking her part seriously because of it.
Dany Robin, together with John Vernon, Roscoe Lee Browne and Karin Dor, were the best actors in Topaz.
I liked the scene where she confronts Devereaux about his affair.
