RE: Top 50

I have to state that after watching this again on Saturday 25th March, 2006, here in England, and BBC 2. I giggled, smiles and laughed out loud when watching this James Garner and Jake Elms work so well together. I think that this film is better than Blazing Saddles, which always get mentioned as the funniest Comedy Westen that has been eer been made. This is more structured and has a plot, and yet at the same time the comdey timining between Elms and Gardner is special

Joan Hackett, has a strong female part in the film as well.

I really love this film. Just because its a funny, comedy film doesn't mean that it doesn't deserve a place within the top 250 films of all time. This film deserves to be there.

Please watch it, and count the amount of times that you laugh to yourself, or smile.

Some times we need to get away from serious thrillers, drama's or space epic's and give these films a look.

You won't get a finer better alternative than this.

Please watch this movie. Give it a try, don't be a snob! Then vote on this website. I bet you will give this a 9. No lower!

I dare you to watch this movie!

Good idea trying to promote this movie. I love it!

This is one of the funniest films of all time. I'm sure this must have contributed over the years to my recent hernia diagnoses as I slump helplessly on the floor with a near busted gut every time I watch it. This is even funnier than Cat Ballou in the Western category and maybe even funnier than No Time for Sergeants.

I won't bother to try to describe or analyze it, as comedy either works or it doesn't. As always you have to see it and decide for yourself. But this is just a classic masterpiece of comedy if you ask me. If comedy could be analyzed, reproduced and bottled as a formula this should definitely be one of the prime case studies. I doubt that it can be though. When it works, just enjoy it.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. And it's interesting you should mention No Time For Sergeants. That is my number one.

Us great minds really do think alike then.

I am not a big fan of Westerns and loved this comedy. I watch it once in a blue moon so I don' t get tired of it and laugh just as hard each time as the first time I saw it. I just rated it a 10.

Its getting near Christmas again, and I for one will be putting this on again and watching this. A great movie.. One where you can watch it on your own, or through watching it with your friends or family.

I bet anyone watching this will fall in love with this movie, and won't let it out of the house if you own the dvd version of the film.

Any takers out there?

Please watch this film over the festive period please. Its a must watch film...

I love this movie, and although I think 'Cat Ballou' and "Paint your Wagon" edge a bit better, it will always be my favorite non-musical western comedy.

Friendly FYI correction - Carl it's Jack Elam not Jake Elms.

I agree we need more 'friendly' movies like this amongst all the others, especially these days.

I just watched it last night. It's getting close to 40 years old! And I was somewhat surprised how much I laughed. I mean, I knew I wanted to see it again. But plenty of things don't hold up. This one does. I saw it as a kid and loved it, and now I've seen it as an adult with kids.

This movie stands up.
