Jack Elam
What can I say, The great character actor's are gone. My goodness, much love to this guy.

shareYes indeed. (Somehow I just can't picture him as Sam Goldwyn's accountant.)
shareFunny.
shareJack Elam: I was a whore holder at madam horses, er a horse holder at madam Orrs
shareHe was great in this as well as The Cannonball Run.
Its that man again!!
What can I say? While I too loved Mr Elam, I've no doubt there will always be plenty of fine character actors around.
There is, however, a vicious rumor that Elam and Marty Feldman once held a staring contest, and a person down the street was declared the winner! ;-)

Agreed. Any film that he was in was made much better by him being in it. Gotta love the power of great supporting actors in films. They deserve a lot more credit than they ever received.
The best revenge: Live well, enjoy life and be happy. Drives any haters crazy.
yes sir.
shareJake was one of the best comedic characters of all time IMHO.
shareI agree, but Mr. Elam could also be a terrific villain or thug. He was masterful at using those eyes to make you laugh, or to intimidate and scare the hell out of you. What wonderful range. He is one of my all time favorite actors.
shareDid you ever see him in the pilot episode of the lawmen? He played a really nasty guy in that one.
