what does the title mean?
Anyone have a clue as to what a sterile cuckoo means? I see many comments from folks who read the book...any ideas?

Yeah, and in my opinion, he's the truly sterile one (nothing can come from a relationship with him, he's incapable of havine one).
shareI don't think Pookie was capable of a normal relationship either. She could not be around other people without alienating them.
I can see Jerry marrying and having a nice dull ordinary-but-functional life. I'm not sure how Pookie will fare.
