I am so glad I found you, Guys!!

I remember watching this film a long time ago. I remember being haunted by the ending... but could not remember the names of the players, the name of the film...

I even statrted wondering if I had made it up (you know, gathering several parts of other movies), then I say a documentary on the Lady B Goode... and I thought "That's it!" but couldn't find anything....

Then I had the idea to post on the Need to know boards! Help came.... I thought I was the only one remembering the movie, but am glad I am not, and I am glad to realize that this film that meant so much to me for many years is recognized by others as a masterpiece.
