Quality Performances
I recently ordered this film on ebay and watched it for the 1st time. It has never been shown on Australian tv to my knowledge. , I've watched it a number of times since and shown it to friends - but I am constantly drawn back to it-it takes a quality program to do that. The reason? Great performances from the actors ,rarely matched these days. The exchanges between Richard Basehart(the General) and Vince Edwards (the Major) are classic cinema. Basehart is here in one of his finest roles. William Shatner is very good as the Colonel who doesn't want any waves in the Libyan Desert- and is 2 years off his pension.
