Newly announced in today's Press that Dame Maggie Smith has been given the added honour by Her Majesty of Companion of Honour.
Richly deserved and am delighted for her.
Dame Maggie is a national treasure of our theatre, drama and the arts.

Agreed. This film was shown on TCM in the UK yesterday and it's blown me away. Maggie Smith is outstanding and I'm struggling to think of any female film performance that could eclipse this.
