SLUT (The End)


Okay, i could go own about the greatest of this movie for a while, but I couldn't help but burst out laughing at the INCREDIBLY APPROPRIATE Swedish translation of "the end." It was almost comedically timed. thats the first time i've seen that at the end of a swedish film, though i've seen a lot of bergmans. lullz

ditto.i was first startled,then very amused by the end title card.it could almost be andreas'bitterness at anna becoming animated.

I laughed when I first saw this too, (before I realized it meant "the end") but it also added an intensity that I found really powerful. One of those happy accidents of cinema I guess.

UK readers may have noticed that on F4, Bergman films often cut off immediatly the film narative ends, thus avoiding showing the snigger worthy display of the word 'Slut'. I have often wondered if this is deliberate...
