shareI have enjoyed watching this film again and again over the years. As I get older, I seem to love it even more. Lee Marvin steals the show with his outrageous facial expressions and hilarious lines. When the Parson offers to pray for the family rescued from the snowstorm, Mr. Rumson (Lee Marvin) tells him to "Go out side where the good Lord can hear you, these folks have suffered enough," and "Hello, Parson! Welcome to Hell!" Although the songs do drag here and there, "Wanderin' Star" remains one of my all time favorite songs from the film. The title song at the conclusion, Paint Your Wagon, "Where am I going I don't know, when will I be there I ain't certain, all I know is I am on my way" can be very uplifting tune to keep in your thoughts when faced with life's uncertanties and unexpected changes.
