Limey: You so much as open your mouth about this tunnel, I'll put a stick o dynamite in it! You tell no one, do ya hear?
Horton: I swear before God...
Limey: I said NO ONE!


Horton: Mr. Rumson, I swore I wouldn't tell anyone, I hope that means except my mother and father.
Ben: That means ESPECIALLY your mother and father!
Horton: But I've never kept anything from them before.
Ben: Well it's about time ya started. Cause when you do, a whole new world opens up.


Mr. Fenty: Horton, how long have you been drinking hard licquor?
Horton: Well, since this afternoon. I know you don't approve, Pa, but believe me, until you've had a good cigar and a shot of whiskey, you're missin' the second and third best things in life.
Ben: Horton!
Pardner: Where'd ya take him, Ben?
Elizabeth: Damn you, Ben Rumson! What're you gonna teach this boy next? How to cheat at cards, or just physical education with one of Willie's floozies?
