Major-General Charles Basil Price (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Basil_Price) and his wife Marjorie appear as extras in this film. Their backs are facing the camera at the start of this YouTube clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkrUyLV3rWA) as Sam walks past St. Paul's Anglican Church (their place of worship). They lived at "Fayremead," next to the church, until 1973. Among the grandchildren who frequently visited them (besides me and my siblings) was Diana Weston (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0922940/).

I was born in Knowlton (1970) and lived there until 1976 and my grandfather was hired to truck animals from the airport in montreal to the film site during the filming. I still have family who live there and I get to visit about once a year.
It's interesting to see the town in movies from back then compared to now, much has changed but the landmarks are all still there!
My dad participated in the filming of "The Little Girl who lived down the lane" which was also filmed in Knowlton. He has on the volunteer fire department in the 70s and they did the rain for one of the scenes.
