Yes, I forgot about her. Kind of ironic when she asks when Joe is from and he says, "New York", since the actor Jon Voight IS from there. At least he didn't answer, "Mame, I'm here fresh in from Texas!"

Agreed. I was only about nine years old when I watched the TV premier .... Oddly enough this was one of only a few scenes I remember most. Something about that Joan Murphy aura I suppose. BTW, odder yet is that the funeral home where she eventually would be laid to rest is located very near the elementary school I was attending in the early '70s.
