No follow-up with Shirley. Feel like we missed something?

He finally gets with the hip crowd, and Shirley. I thought she was a rich woman (maybe not)and paying Joe. Yet, there is no explanation if it was just a one-night stand, or if he revisited her only to meet with rejection, etc.

Or did Joe figure he had enough by that point and didn't even want to pursue anything anymore. Naturally, it served the plot that he took Ratzo to Florida, so staying with Shirley would not fit in, but I'm wondering what the point of them meeting was supposed to convey. It had to be more than to show us he wasn't impotent.

The only person who has missed something is YOU, Inherently Deluded. I can't even be bothered to attempt to explain, as this is one of your endless and meaningless mind games and rants, about something that amounts to nothing, is irrelevant and only holds some kind of bizarre sort of reasoning for you. Go and soak your head.

Notice, Rascal, how he always has to use "WE" in his proclamations, because using "I" alone would not be enough for him. He doesn't have enough courage to stand by his ideas alone, so he continually has to drag others into his nonsense with him.

...how he always has to use "WE" in his proclamations....
__________
That is all part of his 'arrogance', in not wanting to own his thoughts and perceptions, so it becomes a negative projection onto others, as though what he has stated is a truism and the rest better follow along. On a more disturbing note, the "WE", could be all the chatter in his head and he can't distinguish between what is his own and what the voices are telling him to say.
