What would happen if Joe Buck never met Ratso Rizzo at all?

Like Joe Buck went to New York and got ripped off by Cass and then went to the bar and Ratso was not there at all and he just had a few beers and left without meeting Ratso, then continues walking around trying to score while living in that hotel room, not being kicked out for a long time.

Wouldnt Joe just eventually go to Harlem to find himself a Pimp? Maybe meet a male or female prostitute and try to have them introduce him to their pimp and work for him, that way Joe Buck could make money with a real Pimp, that is if a pimp used to pimping women would agree to pimp Joe Buck too.

Or would Joe just return to washing dishes and become a dishwasher again in New York? Maybe quitting Hustling and being what he was in Texas, never moving to Miami or Florida, i say just let Joe try his dream without meeting Ratso Rizzo at all, let him fail and try something else.

Or possibly let Joe meet Ratso and get ripped off by him, then never meet Ratso again and continue trying to be a Hustler, see how far he gets, as much as we like Joe and Ratso's story the movie is really about Joe Buck and if Ratso was just a character that came once and left again it wouldnt matter at all, nobody cried that Cass and Mr. O'Daniel never appeared again after all.
