Schlesingers best movie?
I would say yesy by far? Its a modern masterpiece, anyone can come up with a better schlesinger movie?

shareI looked over Schlesinger's filmography, there are several movies that I forgot that he had directed. Marathon Man was also a good film, and there were several others that I enjoyed at the time (e.g. The Falcon and the Snowman, etc) but just didn't find sufficiently memorable to go back and watch again decades later.
I'm still guessing that Midnight Cowboy is going to be the film that he's remembered for, with perhaps either Day of the Locust or Marathon Man as a distant second. Some of the others are good for what they are but unlikely to make anyone's list of all-time classics.
Absolutely agreed, Marathon man was also a good, but i would not want to watch it twice although i loved it. Midnight cowboy is such a masterpiece, it will remain his best movie i guess, at least in my opinion, thx for the nice conversation by the way Edward

I've seen it, as I recall the acting was top-notch all around, but the story and characters just didn't do very much for me. share
you are right i finished the movie now , and it went downhill after 30 mins or so, the story was already told and it got a bit boring after that.
