One of My Top 5 Best Westerns

Mackenna's Gold rings high atop my list of best westerns in history, being topped only by Clint Eastwood's spaghetti westerns, in fact this movie is even atop some of those. I saw this movie when I was a kid in 1982 and saw it a second time now in 2004, I liked it even better, digitally remastered on DVD it looked as if it was made this year. Jose Feliciano's western song of "turkey buzzard" was a classic and worthy of dubbing into a CD for repeated hearings in your CD player.

Certaintly Mackenna's Gold is a Classic all the way.

I really like this movie too. There is a great cast and a good story with a great ending. This is one of those westerns that I saw when I was a kid so I'm partial to it.

Yup. Agree. My all-time favourite western. Why/ Because it was the FIRST western I saw as kid in the theatre 70mm/steriophonic sound etc.

I have since whatched several times over and still love it.

I know people complain about this, that and other but form it is a just great.

Other westerns I like:

High Noon
For a few dollars more
Unforgiven

Couldn't agree more! I love westerns, but I do say, this is in my top 5 as well along w/ a few of Clint Eastwood's........The story is fantastic, all the talent involved, and the majestic landscapes - breathtaking! I've watched this so many times - just showed it to my 8 y/o and she LOVED it! I just don't get why it hasn't become bigger or more appreciated - ???
