Lucas was on the set of MacKenna's filming a documentary about the movie and also gave suggestions to the script and how to rehearse and filming some scenes, and ya know where Lucas' "inspirations" came from... "Raiders" is "Secret of the Incas" mixed with "MacKenna's Gold".

Did not know that and now I want to watch Secret of the Incas.

It's not a slam-bang action thriller like the Indiana Jones films but it's interesting to see where Spielberg and Lucas clearly got some ideas from it. And Charlton Heston keeps it watchable.
