Just seen it a few hours ago on BBC1...very good , epic, very overblown telling of a simple tale so many stars and as we find out so little time for them !
I think Omar Sharif's fate was dictated by his being a matinee idol at the time- anything alse would just not do for his female fans !

I'd never seen it and everything about it is odd. At first I thiught it may be an Italian Western but it quickly changed into a 70's type disaster flick.

The cast had big names but the older chaps were there for a check, IDK?
Cobb,Wynn,Massey,Quale,Wallach, Edward G.Robinson really what was the point?
