The worst western of all time, bar none.
I missed this one, way back in 1969. For which, I am truly thankful. Boy, am I glad I paid no money to see this turkey recently - without a doubt, the worst western I've ever seen.
I can't imagine how any serious critic would consider this as a movie to recommend. Yes, I've written a review that details much of what is bad about it. I end it by suggesting it should be seen as the lowest benchmark from which to judge all westerns. Like, next time you see a so-so western (e.g. Minnesota Clay), at least you can say, "Well, that ain't as bad as MacKenna's Gold, that's for sure." And that's a fact.
Gotta wonder how those producers were conned out of their money. One born every minute....
I've seen an awful lot of movies and a lot of awful movies...
