was this the film where the4 girl talks to the tv and through voice activated technology, the tape of her father appears to answer her questions, or is this another film i am thinking of?

No, not this film.

But, if you go over to the "I have to know" board: http://www.imdb.com/board/bd0000001/threads/ and ask there, someone will usually come up with the answer.

If you do get an answer, come back and let us know, I'm curious about this movie now. ;-)

no, i dont think so, i looked up VIDOEDROME on WIKIPEDIA and this came out :-
