My review for this movie....

...deadly slow, self-conscious, tries to read some ridiculour psychological subtext where none exists, and has a disctinct homo-erotic level that is totally misplaced.

Everyone seems to come from the school where long, slow deliberate pauses mid -sencented with odd words is great acting. It ain't by any means!

Man, I totally lovesd the book, but this version didn't even come close to catching how the stories worked. The only half-decent one was The Veldt; but even that killed the setup of the original, and hammered home the themes with a sledgehammer.

I am - SUPERFLUOUS!!!

Shouldn't you have posted this in the User Comments section, rather than here?

I ain't seen the movie and just came here to see what people think of it. Your review hasn't put me off, but I am intrigued by the "disctinct homo-erotic level" you mention as most times people use this phrase they simply mean that there is a little male nudity or "beefcake"...

No, it's a little more to it than that. There's furtive glances the two male leads give to each other, and the big question why one of them feels compelled to remain by the other's side all night. Stuff like that.

Sounds potentialy interesting in the context of a SF movie.

The old video version is a 15 certificate here in the UK but as other 15 movies such as "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie" and "Logan's Run" are still shown uncut (ie with nudity and language left intact) on daytime TV that don't really mean much anymore especialy as the certificate was granted over 10 years ago...
