On Tonight
It's on tonight on TCM
shareThe title on the actual print they showed was "The Haunted House of Horror" (not "Horror House" etc) and it ran 92 minutes and seemed uncut to me. I recorded it and "Tower of Evil" onto DVD- last night and I'm quite pleased, though I'd still love to get that R2 Tigon box for the commentary at some point in the future.
shareI fell asleep halfway through it!

SPOILERS!!
Far too much talk-talk-talk. I drifted ff a couple of times myself.
Let me get this straight, now: the movie ends with Sheila paralyzed by her fall down the stairs, Chris dead from numerous stab wounds (including one to the groin), and killer Richard running down the road screaming like a baby because the moon has gone behind a cloud, right? Was he (Richard) the boy who murdered his entire family in the house? If so . . . why?
Personally, I hoped Madge was the killer due to the really lousy way the others treated her.
This always seemed to be on the verge of graduating into something worthwhile, but the hammy dialogue (and so blamed MUCH of it) just dragged it down into mediocrity for me. Nice try, but no cigar. Steve V.
I dvr'd this last month, just finally watched it tonight.
I don't know that Sheila was truly paralyzed, maybe I just choose to believe she was injured and in pain because truly paralyzed would suck. lol
That groin hit was raunchy.
I am not sure if he was the boy. I rather doubt it as they comment that the boy killed himself (but if he was the one to relay the tale then who the hell knows if it was true).
I can see why this has such a low rating and I can understand the complaints about it but I didn't think it was that bad only because the ending creeped me out so much (whoever played Richard was a pretty good actor in my opinion). I was okay with it not having a real ending for some reason. It's a weird one, that's for sure. And now that I continue to type and reflect it really was not a good film, exactly, but the ending creepiness and that dude partially hanging through the floor was enough to make it worthwhile but I won't be in a rush to watch it again.
It came off as though it was an attempt at artsy-ness or a student film.
"And what would a note say, Dan? 'Cat dead, details later'?"
