Funny how he's clearly out of place. The movie is very much 1969 & there he is still looking like an early 60s, JFK-era teen idol. They didn't even *try* to update his look.
Who okayed choosing HIM for the part??

shareHad Bowie been in it the film would have been cult status by now. It seems a strange reason for AIP to give. I don't think David Bowie was really that well known at the stage. Whereas Frankie Avalon and Mark Wynter had more or less had their pop careers over by then, Bowies career hadn't fully taken off. So I expect AIP still expected a personality clash even though Bowie was largely an unknown factor at the time.

shareI didn't think the movie was *that* bad. It's very much a product of it's time and very British. Those expecting a fast paced splatter film will be disappointed. I love Hammer horror and British horror so I dug it.
It's basically "Scooby-Doo" with some tame (by today's standards) murders thrown in. It was kinda refreshing so many characters survived.
