She looks different than on the TV show. In this movie she looks even prettier with a lot less makeup on. The natural look suited her. I think she's the prettiest redhead ever. :)
shareAgreed. She is absolutely pretty during the women's health-club/bridge-playing scene, especially since she's in a plain black t-shirt/jeans, with her hair pulled up. She sort of reminds me of yesterday's Julianne Moore. Her portrayal is tragically hilarious, and I wish they'd have given her more of a character as she seemed to steal her scenes when on-screen.
Also, I love this movie. I really don't know why, as it is heavily dated, but I suppose it's the 1960s angst/horrendous suburbia life that seem akin to what is being portrayed on such modern venues (e.g. "Mad Men," etc.). I also think Jean Simmons was a very beautiful/underrated actress and her portrayal should have garnered her the 1970 Best Actress Award, as a woman on the brink of a nervous, alcohol-fueled breakdown.
Still potent, even four decades later. :)
