Very underrated film

This film is one of the finest character driven movies ever made. It's subtle and exciting with unexpected thrills and emotion. Impossible to watch without flinching during those parachute jumps and everyone is at the edge of their seat in the last one. One of Frankenheimers best films among his many great ones. Lancaster should have received an academy award for best actor.

I agree.

To me, the performances of Gene Hackman and William Windom are particularly memorable. Both actors absolutely and truely "nail" their characters -- I've known and worked with many guys of both personality types, and Hackman's and Windom's characterizations are dead-on.

I think this is a quite affecting and exciting little drama, with fine performances by all.

What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!
