Eye Candy

The best thing about this movie is how they use color.

reply

Not terribly refined but i agree the look is very catchy, very glossy Technicolor. This really is kiddie sci-fi...hugely entertaining.

reply

Agreed, the color scheme was rich and vibrant. Quite the change from the nearly black-and-white, subdued colors of 2001. The bright red and yellow space station, the brilliantly green Slime.... wow!

i agree.

I love the use of color in this film!!! The bright, bright green of the slime, and the rocky red/orange of the planet it comes from!!

Yes, the colors are fantastic. If you like the visuals in this
film you may want to check out "Planet of the Vampires" by
Mario Bava (aka Terrore nello spazio). It's another great
pre-2001 60s sci-fi visual feast, but with more plot and less cheese.

reply

Yeah, man, it was far-out with the colors! Plot and attitude-wise it's just like a 50's sci-fi film, but the colors, theme-song, and mini-skirts plop it down right in the swingin' go-go 60's!
