TCM aired WAR BETWEEN THE PLANETS earlier in the week and, wow, it is definitely in the same design motif as THE GREEN SLIME.

Excellent! Yes the Gamma One series was written/co-produced by Ivan Reiner who also wrote & co-produced THE GREEN SLIME. They even reproduce the UDESCO headquarters on Earth as shown more specifically in WAR BETWEEN THE PLANETS (PLANET ON THE PROWL). While not spoken out loud THE GREEN SLIME is definitely a continuation of the same fictional universe that the Gamma One films are set in:

WILD WILD PLANET (1965)
THE WAR OF THE PLANETS (1966)
WAR BETWEEN THE PLANETS (PLANET ON THE PROWL, 1967) and
THE SNOW DEVILS (1967)

All were filmed more or less simultaneously by Antonio Margheriti in 1964 using the same supporting casts, technical crews, sets, props, costumes, stock footage etc. They were originally intended for theatrical release but ended up being parceled out for television distribution in reduced fullscreen forms. All are now available on DVD in their English language widescreen formats: WAR BETWEEN THE PLANETS by Dark Sky on a DVD which also features CREATION OF THE HUMANOIDS. Then Warner Archives has WILD WILD PLANET, THE WAR OF THE PLANETS and THE SNOW DEVILS as Made On Demand DVD-R media. Definitely worth looking into if you're a fan of klutzy looking 1960s science fiction.

Also like all of these movies. A time capsule in that the women are in subservient mode. The usually unnecessary macho posturing is quite entertaining.
