A lot of fun

I definitely wouldn't classify this as "so bad it's good." It's cheap, yes, and very silly. But what do you want from a movie called The Green Slime? Unlike many of these 50s scifi movies, it actually moves along at a fast pace, which is exciting and refreshing. I'm gonna give it a 9/10, because I think it's one of the best movies of its kind.

I saw this at the drive-in with my Dad (who slept thru it) way back in '69 when I was 8 years old. I thought it was great! Amazingly enough, that same summer he took me to the drive-in again to see 2001: A Space Odyssey which totally blew my mind and made this movie look rather lame

LOL It is a great deal of fun!! My memmory of first seeing this was when a neighbor of ours purchased a BIG SCREEN tv in the 70s......it was the kind that you pulled out a bottom drawer and the film reflected back onto the TV and this was the first movie I had ever seen on a big screen home tv! LOL! :) I'ts on DVD now by the way... :)

Don't disagree with your rating. These genre films seem to have an adoring following. Who wants to watch dramatic downers all the time?

For a low budget film, they did an admirable job with model and set building. Comparing 'The Green Slime' to '2001, A Space Odyssey' just isn't fair. You've really got to appreciate 'TGS' for what it is, drive-in move filler that's all in good fun.
