Alan Smithee's debut film

This is the first film to be directed by the legendary Alan Smithee, who would go on to have a prolific and varied career in many different genres, albiet mostly with poor or average films. Strangely, hardly any of his films were originally to be his; usually he took over the directorial reins after the initial director decided to leave.

Yes, I know he doesn't exist.

IF you are being facetious, then pardon my reply...

You do know that Alan Smithee is a fictional person who is accredited to any film that a director disowns- usually after losing control of the film to studio execs, etc.

"Death of a Gun Fighter" (1969) was Alan Smithee's first film. This is remakable since he was "born" two years earlier in 1967. He has also signed his name to other directors work ever since. LOL

What a *beep* topic. Don't sound your voice unless you have something to say. The fact you state is already very clear from the trivia section, and you don't open any discussion points. Dare I say that you opened this topic out of blatant vanity? I think I do.

Oh yeah, by the way, putting a contrasting/revealing message at the bottom of your post requiring people to scroll down and be intrigued is just boring and cheap.

What I find very interesting is that since "Alan Smithee"'s first film, he has gone back in time to "re-direct" several earlier films...

I always regarded Smithee as a much underrated and varied director.

It's that man again!!
