Never saw The Andromeda Strain, but I've been wanting to see it.
I certainly want a decent DVD and/or BluRay of Colossus.

I think you'll like Andromeda Strain. I bought my copy from Amazon for a very reasonable price. The video quality is very good. I have a good copy of Colossus but its the Pan and Scan version that Amazon sells.

It's a terrible shame that neither is available on Blu-ray.

Both would look incredible in HD, especially The Andromeda Strain, which is still one of the most scientifically accurate "sci fi" films ever made.

Oh Lord yes. Both are great 70's sci-fi. I like the seriousness of Andromeda Strain but both are great.

They should've been on BR-D years ago.

As along as the region code of the disc matches your region or is region free, the Blu-ray should play. I don't know where you live. Amazon lists the disc as region B. With Blu-ray, HD is the same worldwide. There is no NTSC or PAL issues with HD content. In fact, my Blu-ray player even played a region free PAL DVD on my TV - hooked up via HDMI. It was part of a Blu-ray/DVD combo. My player is just an $80 Philips player from Walmart.

Originally slated for release on BluRay today, there has been a slight delay in distribution. Andromeda Strain is a BestBuy exclusive and will hopefully be out before the end of Feb. 2015. Check their web site to pre-order.

What would make my day? Colossus: The Forbin Project on BluRay.

A Criterion BluRay Release with loads of Special Features! Interviews with later directors, Cameron, Carpenter; etc. Eric and Susan should do the audio commentary, with a film historian.

And - PUT IT IN WIDESCREEN!

Criterion takes suggestions. Petitions; etc. They could give it the full treatment.

Be worth the price

Deluge...I'd be in heaven. A cold six-pack of beer, Hot Wings and both of these Classics by Criterion BD. BTW...anyone know if Andromeda BD will be sold by others besides Best Buy? Amazon for instance. Thanks folks.
