Just wondering what other people consider to be the most beautiful actress in the series.
Mine are
1. Angela Douglas (Cowboy/ Screaming/ Follow That Camel/ Up The Khyber)
2. Jacki Piper (Up The Jungle/ Loving/ At Your Convenience/ Matron)
3. Elizabeth Knight (Camping/ Again Doctor)
4. Imogen Hassell (Loving)
5. Valerie Leon (Up The Khyber/ Camping/ Again Doctor/ Up The Jungle/ Matron/ Girls)
Also worthy of a mention Anita Harris (Follow That Camel/ Doctor)
Patricia Franklin in Camping and Loving (Although she's almost unrecognisable in Girls) and Gail Grainger (Abroad)

I always thought that Joan and Hattie were quite good-looking ladies, and I think it was such a shame that their weight problems denied them the chance to play more glamorous roles.

I totally agree with you. I have always thought that Hattie and Joan were overlooked. In fact, nearly everyone that met Hattie thought she was a very sexy woman.

Ahm Dilys Laye was a cracker. Did you know she was married to Garfield "Guvnor" Morgan from The Sweeney ?

Jacki Piper and Carol Hawkins (Abroad) were both gorgeous. Joan Sims could be pretty sexy too (check out Dont Lose Your Head, Henry, Again Doctor and even Follow that Camel).

Finest Moment - didfficult one, but the innocence of Doris has it for me.

You know what, we aint done too bad with lovely ladies in the Carry on Series have we?

For me it has to be Carol Hawkins, even though she was only in two films.

Joan Sims is my second favourite, she looked fabulous in Carry on Cowboy.

And what about Liz Fraser?

Trisha Noble (the gorgeous blonde with the curvy figure and big boobs in Camping). Shame she wasn't used much.

she tended to have minor cameo roles really except in carry on girls when she had a few more lines.

my fave though was margaret nolan ;-)

Elizabeth Knight was beautiful, although she wasn't a major player in the Carry On films she really stands out. Watched Carry On Camping over Christmas and loved the scene with her and Terry Scott.
Valerie Leon, Jacki Piper and Angela Douglas were gorgeous too.

Does anyone know what happened to Knight after 1981? She seems to have disappeared from the acting game according to IMDb. Such a shame as she was really talented.

i'd forgotten (temporarily) about the actress who played jenny grubb in "carry on loving"; imogen hassall. it was her only appearance in a carry on film. very sad that she died at an early age.

another beautiful actress who starred in 1 carry on film was elke sommer. she had some great lines in "carry on behind".

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Liz Fraser yet. I think she was definitely among the most beautiful along with Jacki Piper, Angela Douglas, Amanda Barrie, Valerie Leon, Fenella Fielding, Shirley Eaton, Susan Stephen, Jill Ireland, etc. Although being "a bit overweight" there was something rather attractive about Hattie Jacques and Joan Sims certainly. Jume Whitfield wasn't that bad either.
I wonder why Barbara Windsor is always celebrated as Carry On's sexiest woman or even the "Queen of Carry On" (that's definitely Joan Sims!)? At least I think she's not just the most annoying but also one of the least attractive women in the history of Carry On. Most of the others had much prettier faces and firmer bodies.

She had eyes to rival Princess Diana ( & THAT takes some doing! )...& a figure to die for! Others?
Shirley Eaton comes a very close second.
Amanda Barrie CANNOT be left out.
Last but not least..Anita Harris.
