A customer in the record store asks Toni if a certain album is available in mono and she tells him it's discontinued but she'll check in the back. It appears to be the original Broadway cast recording of "Mame", co-starring Bea Arthur who was, at the time, married to director Gene Saks.

It might have been a reference to Matthau's Academy Award-inning role from three years earlier. But he's not in that scene, and if it was in the original play then it would just be a coincidence, since he wasn't in the play.
