the air raid
I thought the air raid on the bridge was inaccurate. By 1945, the USAAF was using low level skip-bombing whereas a plane lines up on a bridge abutment and skips the bomb into the target (see KELLY'S HEROES for the scene where Oddball blames Moriarty for the loss of the bridge). Also, the falling bombs appeared to be cartoon animation (as in THE DAM BUSTERS). Eglin USAF base in Florida has a great little museum that covers the history of US tactical air support (a WW2 P47 next to a Vietnam war F105, showing how weapons loads evolved).
