Dunkirk scenes.

The "German" troops at Dunkirk look a swarthy lot, indeed a bit Hispanic for Aryan supermen doncha think? More like waiters! "Que, Mr Fawlty?"

Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

Probably cos they WERE all Spanish. Not many blonde haired and blue eyed extras in that part of the world.

I was joking you know. I'm well aware it was also shot in Spain. You'd think they could have chosen less Spanish looking extras though. Should have rounded up some German tourists and used them! If they could prise the buggers off their sun loungers.

Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

Hotrodder, the 1970s called - they'd like their racial and national stereotypes back.

"Someone has been tampering with Hank's memories."

Only having a bit of fun, lad. Have another look at the movie and they do look very Spanish so I'm not being entirely inaccurate but I am just being facetious.

Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

I'm only having a bit of fun with you, Mr Hotrodder.

Apart from all the fun in this thread: the summer of 1940 was really fine with lots of sun, and the Germtroops were in a generally fine condition and properly sun burnt.

If you read William Shirer's Berlin Diary he has an excellent reporting, comparing the 'fitness' of Germtroops compared to Brittroops (POWs) he met in Belgium or France.

And apart from that: It's a myth that all Germans are tall, blonde and blue-eyed. For instance, the only top Nazi being that, I think was Heydrich. Hitler himself was only some 173 cm tall and with dark hair. It took some Nazi toad to 'find out' that one could also be an 'Aryan' if Your hair took a 'blonde sheen' when 'seen at a certain angle under a certain light source'. So may be the light when shooting simply was 'certain'. 😀

But the film being shot in Spain explains to me the high hills (low mountains) in the background of the train station when Fat Hermann Göring arrives.
