New DVD from the negatives thanks to Code Red

It's now available through the Code Red webstore and Patty Wymer fans from every corner of the globe can now get their fix.

Yes, thanks for posting. It has been about 9 months since I first posted the news in this forum that Code Red had uncovered the original camera negatives for THE BABYSITTER. Between then and now, there have been various delays and road bumps, but Code Red is now taking direct mail orders online for their remastered (from the original negatives) pressed DVD of THE BABYSITTER.

I'll report back here when I've received my copy of this release. It can't arrive soon enough!

I just ordered this myself too. I have a lot of the Drive In Cult Classic Box sets and I love discovering these long forgotten movies. The only problem is I end up buying them all again when new and improved versions come out LOL! I discovered Horror High through these BCI/Mill Creek box sets and just ordered the Code Red Special edition and now I have ordered the Babysitter again. But it's worth it since it's widescreen and a much improved print. I love these movies.

"But it's worth it since it's widescreen"

I have to disagree with you on that point. The movie was originally shot in the 1.33 : 1 (4:3, full screen) ratio, so to make it widescreen, they would have had to cut off the top and bottom of the picture.

I prefer that all movies be presented in their original aspect ratios, not modified. That way, you get to see exactly what the director wanted you to see.

Making a full screen movie into wide screen is as bad as the old pan-and-scan method used to convert widescreen movies "to fit your screen", when TV screens were in the 4:3 ratio instead of today's 16:9 format.
