The older I get the more I enjoy Irena Pappas' performance. I had forgotten just how beautiful this seldom seen actress is. She is appropriately somber and dignified as befits a Spanish Catolico noblewoman and Queen of England. Clearly, she must not have been much fun to be married to for 20 years. Sadly, all her male sons were born dead. I wonder what they problem was back then?

Not all of her sons were born dead. At least one of them lived, but died about a month later. up til then he'd be a relatively healthy baby.

Not much fun? She was spanish, not a nun. Chances are the death of all of her children but one took their toll. and the fact that Henry was unfaithful.

Aside from her darker looks I agree; she captured the essence of Catherine perfectly.
