Dumb question: Is this film old 'to watch'??

Maybe it's my ignorance or whatnot but sometimes I find it really hard to watch "old" films, maybe it's a generation thing I don't know. I've seen on TV in the past films about the Tudors or historical/costume dramas from the 50s/60s/70s and sometimes I find the acting so dry and less convincing, especially if it's a wobbly set! :P

BUT I am a big "fan" (if that's the right word) of Anne Boleyn & her story, she's my favorite historical figure so was thinking of checking out this film as it's got great things said about it. I've only really watched the series 'The Tudors' & loved Natalie Dormer's portrayal.

Forget Dormer and The Tudors, watch this and half a dozen old TV series, as well as both versions of The Other Boleyn Girl (BBC and Hollywood).

Do see this; Genevieve Bujold just may become your favorite "Anne Boleyn".

Yeah, better to get advice from strangers than to spend two hours watching it and make up your own mind. God forbid you should watch anything you aren't guaranteed to find as appealing as "The Tudors."

DO watch Anne of a Thousand Days. You are already a fan of hers, as am I. This is a beautifully photographed, costumed and set decorated film with many top actors as opposed to stars ( although Burton was a big star). This is the best played Anne, imho. The Tudors was all about titillation. This version is the more accurate of the two. What actually happened is more interesting than all the shenanigans in The Tudors.
But I know what you mean about watching old movies. Although I grew up during black and white, it can be a real chore sometimes.
Another good old movie is A Man for All Seasons for many of the same reasons as Anne.
