Kind of like the Playboy channel showing new Bugs Bunny episodes...

Apparently nobody was interested in financing new
episodes of Sesame street except HBO,known for it's
shows with violence, nudity and bad language....

Lot of weirdos.

It's also known for Fraggle Rock, The Adventures of Tintin, Braingames, Encyclopedia Brown, and Babar.

It's kind of like complaining that the theaters showing Follow That Bird back in 1985 were the very same theaters that were showing Nightmare on Elm Street 2 and Re-Animator (both of which had graphic violence and explicit sexual content); Private Resort and Mischief (teen sex comedies); and Rambo: First Blood Part II and Missing in Action 2: The Beginning (violent action pictures).

By the way, I may be wrong, but Sesame Street will probably be shown on HBO Family (a network not known for violence, nudity or bad language).

That is kind of odd. Are parent going to be willing to pay extra for HBO so their kids can watch Sesame Street? Sesame Street being on the same station as Curb Your Enthusiasm and Game of Thrones is rather odd.

One of these things is not like the others.

That's the reason for this HBO deal- they finance new episodes? This show should have ended when they decided to have Kevin Clash voice Elmo. Since then, it was just downhill from there. Any financing should have gone into re-running the episodes from 1969 to that point.

Now, not only does HBO get involved, but the show is cut down to a half hour. Terrible. Sesame Street was never meant to be handled this badly. Why do they carry on with it? They should just end it now and put it out of it's misery. No one wants to see "stuck on life support" status.

Why should they end the show if there's an audience for it?

Just shut up.

Enough of an audience to matter? If not, that's a reason. And if they are having such financial trouble that they have to cut the show to a half hour and sell out to a company like HBO, that's another reason. A further reason is if they can't put out quality entertainment and quality entertainment value, which it doesn't seem like they can either. They've been doing the wrong things since Elmo voiced by Kevin Clash started to take off, and it caused all kinds of irreparable damage.
