10+ year old question

Was there ever an episode where Shaggy and Scooby were actually turning into real chickens? For some reason when I was younger, maybe around 4 years old, I swear I saw an episode in which some guy with a dark beard had a gem that he used to turn Shaggy and Scooby into chickens. Then they flew with a log in their claws to stop him? I'm don't even think it's this series..but maybe some one can help? Please?

I'm certain they may have worn chicken outfits at one time or another.

In the snow ghost episode, with the bigfoot fellow, they were frozen in blocks and flapped their arms to fly away.

In the caveman episode, they are wearing fish costumes that look rather silly.

Other than the occasional chicken suit, I think what you may be remembering is a Scrappy mini-sode of sorts where they met a real wizard in a tower who did transform them. Also, I think in the Leprecaun/Banshee Scrappy mini-sode they were changed as well, but I can barely remember those episodes.

I hope that helps. There were a lot of the 7 minute Shaggy, Scooby, and Scrappy mini-sodes and some are being released on DVD with Ritchie Rich cartoons now, but beware there's few episodes for a high price in the Vol. 1 set they came out with!

I also think when they met Johnthan Winters there dressed up as chickens to get away from the bad guys

There is an episode of the very similar "Josie and the Pussycats" cartoon show where Alex Cabot (who, like Shaggy, was voiced by Casey Kasem) is turned into a chicken by an evil villain, and then into an ape.

Any Scooby Doo episodes with real magic or supernatural things isn't right. If the gang can't pull a mask off a creature that turns out to be a normal criminal and watch him sputter indignantly about meddlin' kids, it just ain't Scooby Doo in my book.

Off the top of my head i think it's the Scrappy short with the leprechaun

I refuse to argue on IMDB until the general populous actually uses their brains
