Foul Play In Fun Land....one of the best episodes!

I've always considered this episode to be one of the best in the entire series for two reasons: One, it takes place at a creepy abandoned carnival...and two, it's one of the few mysteries that doesn't actually have a true villain that's 'bad'. Personally, I enjoy this episode because of how simplistic it is in terms of the gang being alone in this amusement park with a creepy yet misunderstood robot named Charlie that tries to go after them. What's interesting, is the fact that the robot is really a caring and intelligent being that simply malfunctioned due to the old caretaker's sister causing it to go crazy because she didn't think that robots should work at a place where children visit to have fun. So like I said, technically there never was a real villain in this mystery...which somehow made it the most unique of the series and yet still creepy at the same time. My favorite moments:

1. When all of the lights in the entire amusement park start to go off and the music is still playing, then shortly later the gang sees the robot on one of the rides.

2. When they visit the old caretaker and his sister to explain what they saw, they're told that it could've been their imaginations playing tricks on them and that "Besides us, there is no one else on this island". The next part after where they discuss what to do on the beach, and suddenly the lights/music come back on a little later like nothing happened.

3. When the gang is in the Tunnel Of Love ride and they see Charlie swimming towards their boat, only for it to split in half and they begin to sink a little in the water. Also, the scene where they see him on the Ferris Wheel and Fred tries to crank the ride back down but he's suddenly disappeared.

What are your favorite scenes? Is this episode at least in your top 5?

The episode is a fun one indeed. The creepy carnival coming on is a neat idea. And i always thought being alone in a carnival would make an interesting night.

One of my favorite parts of the episode is the ridiculous steps Shaggy describes as to how Charlie escaped the trap.

I liked it too but I think my all time favorite episode is the one where they go to the haunted house where there's a headless ghost in a suit. I can't remember the name of that one.

When the Story Lady tells us about the naughty boy who blew up his goldfish.

That would be the episode called 'Haunted House Hang-Up'...with the Headless Spector. I enjoyed that one too and would probably put it in my top 10 IMO.

Back to this episode, would is your favorite scene?
