Spooky Space Kook: Roswell Connection

S1, ep 15, Spooky Space Kook, is about an alleged ghost of an alien haunting an abandoned USAF base.

It is my hypothesis that this ep was likely inspired by legends of an alien corpse being retrieved and stored by the USAF.

There is the alleged Roswell UFO crash in 1947. Prior to tabloid TV and the first known Roswell book in 1980, there were oral folk versions of the legends, and the writer of this episode might have heard one of these legends. Also, during the 1950's-1960's, there were numerous UFO and scifi pulp magazines which also might have mentioned the story.

Also, in the 1950s-1970s, there was an Ohio ufologist named Leonard H. Stringfield. He is said to have written about alien ships and corpses being stored at Wright-Patterson USAF base at Dayton Ohio. I remember in the mid-1970's hearing rumors about Wright-Patterson.

So maybe the Wright-Patternson legend is the source of this episode.

And I am not saying I believe in alien corpses held at any USAF bases. But it is a popular piece of mythology and the idea of an alien ghost at old airfield is a good premise for a story.

I do think this ep is based on UFO folklore of some kind.

This is my hypothesis, anyway.

I do hesitate touting, however I do share your hypothesis.
I saw many symbolic references. A couple were very eerie.
