opinions on Scrappy Doo?
I thought he was annoying and obnoxious and totally ruined the show.
shareAs true as your words are, you are most forgiving and kind in regards to general consensus.
shareI loved him, never seen a problem with him.

I liked him but I haven't seen the original cartoon he was in for several years. Probably 20 years ago was the last time I saw that. He wasn't bad in the following: the 13 ghosts of Scooby Doo, Scooby Doo Meets the Boo Brothers, Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School, and Scooby Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf. Don't think I've ever seen a single Scooby Doo cartoon from the 90s when he maybe got super annoying.
When the Story Lady tells us about the naughty boy who blew up his goldfish.
Never really understood people's problems with him. Being annoying was what made him lovable.
Da da da da da da! Puppy power!
Little dogs constantly biting off more than they can chew? Classic!
I believe that the cowardly but sensible Scooby and the brave but impulsive Scrappy would have made a great team--they would balance out each other.
Who the hell needs "meddling kids", anyway?
As a kid, I loved him, yeah, he never listened to the others when he told them not to do, but he was brave and strong, two things I always wanted to be, I wanted to be as strong as he was. I do think though that he works better in the movies than the TV show: Scooby Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf, Scooby Doo Meets the Boo Brothers, Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School.
shareI thought he was kind of annoying when he was first introduced in the early episodes of The Scooby Doo and Scrappy Doo Show, when he was voiced by Lennie Weinrib and would purposely place his uncle and the rest of the gang directly in the line of danger. But as the character progressed and Don Messick took over the role, he gradually became more useful to the gang and was no longer the irritating and clumsy wannabe tough guy type.
I liked him best in The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo series and the trilogy of 80's television films (Boo Brothers, Ghoul School, and Reluctant Werewolf) where he was depicted as the helpful "brains" of the group and not a Henery Hawk knock off.
But yeah, I'm actually a fan of Scrappy and never understood where all the hate came from. I would love to see him make a comeback in a future incarnation of Scooby Doo. Especially after the awful 2002 live action movie pretty much ruined the character. In my opinion, Scrappy is a great addition to the gang and doesn't deserve all the negative reception he gets.
Now Flim Flam on the other hand...

Killed the show for me. Never had a problem with Scooby's other relatives. Scooby Dum and Scooby Dee, though. I loved how Scrappy was the villian in the movie from '02.
It's only my opinion. Climb down.
