This promo sums up the anniversary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJ-q0MKzwwY

The mention Python Night on BBC 2 in Oct. It was previously held on Oct 9 1999.
That's all the TV BBC plans. Have to wonder if the old shows are black listed by the PC police.

John Cleese: Americans are bigger Monty Python fans than the 'negative' British
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/09/03/john-cleese-americans-bigger-monty-python-fans-negative-british/

Asked if he ever thought the show would still be going strong after half a century, Cleese replied: “Well, it’s not really going very strong - one needs to point that out because, for reasons that I’m not very clear about, the BBC haven’t put us out on terrestrial television for the best part of 20 years.”

He went on: “I find that there’s a lot more enthusiasm for Python in America, Canada and Australia than there is in the UK. I’ve just been in Canada doing a tour - 14 shows in a month to 28,000 people - and the love and affection for Python is quite extraordinary, with 60-year-old men with a tear in their eye, literally saying, ‘Thank you for making me laugh all these years.’”

Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle and Terry Gilliam spoke to Radio Times about Flying Circus, which first aired on October 5 1969.
