The woman who had the theory that the Brontosaurus(?) was skinny at the end, wider in the middle, and skinny at the other end was hilarious, but what was the meaning of her hemming and hawing and constantly clearing her throat?

I think the humor lies in the fact that it takes her forever to state her new "theory" about the brontosaurus - and when she finally does, there's nothing new (or illuminating) about it.
Not the greatest Monty Python routine, but Cleese's performance as Anne Elk (and Chapman's exasperation as her interviewer) make it funny.
I have a theory about that.
And it is mine, this theory.
