soap icon almost got Marcia role
In her new memoir, Melody Thomas Scott (Y&R Nikki ), was second runner up to Maureen for the role. She also auditioned for Marta regarding "The Sound of Music". Unfortunately her grandma dyed her brunette hair blonde a day before the screen test. Melody hinted in the book, it might has cost her the role. Prior to the soap, she guest starred on the " Walton's".
Her grandma was a strange lady, She forbid Melody from taking baths or showers, and felt bubble gum gave you cancer. When President Kennedy was killed, her family was ecstatic.
