As a George Fan...

I think it's awesome they chose a George song for the grand finale. Entertainment Weekly dismissed It's All Too Much as the surest sign George took drugs but I like it. I don't mind they cut it since the song is 7 minutes long.

It's Only A Northern Song isn't the most memorable Beatles song but it's very catchy and the visuals in the movie accompany the song well.

I'm not disappointed we only get a few seconds of Love You Too but I am disappointed we only get a few seconds of Think For Yourself. It's odd that the Fab Four sing Think For Yourself to the Lord Mayor. Since it's a put-down song they should sing it to the Blue Meanies.

Of course a Beatle movie will favor John and Paul songs but you'd hope the humor would be more balanced. Well, George does have some good gags (like the line about Time going on strike for shorter hours) but John and Ringo seem to get the lion's share of the best jokes. Notice in the closing scene with the Beatles in live-action, George sets up jokes for the other Beatles rather than tell one himself.

Given how funny George was, it is a shame that he didn't get to make more jokes. In real life, George possessed a very very sharp sense of humour, and was frustrated that people thought he was so serious.
