As he is about to pull a lever Ringo says that he is a "born lever-puller," a joke on the Beatles being from Liverpool. However, the proper term for a citizen of Liverpool is Liverpudlian.

That is a VERY subtle joke.. I'm not sure I'm totally convinced its not just an off the cuff non-sequitur!

In all the times that I've seen 'Yellow Submarine' I have never even thought about such a connection......Liverpudlian, or Lever-Puller......

I have always thought that it was Ringo's way of saying that he is destined to always do the obvious things...and that he cannot resist the temptation...

...Like most of us....
