After the police took Bobby into custody and the injured were taken to hospitals I always wondered what would have happened. The police would certainly have questioned Bobby's dad. Byron Orlok and other survivors would be called to testify at the trial. Defense attorneys would likely have went for an insanity plea. If found sane would he have gotten the death penalty,and would it have been carried out before California suspended it in 1972? Any thoughts?

Since Bobby was psychologically damaged, from having been in Vietnam, he very well likely have won the insanity plea and spent the rest of his life in a mental institution.

Rightfully so. Anyone who thinks Bobby is sane should probably take a thorough psyche eval themselves.

Insanity pleas (and the legal system in general) were a bit less abused in those days.
